Character: Cadence "Stirkes-a-Chord" Turner or just "Strikes" in the Cairn. To people outside the Cairn she is known as Cadence. Or Caydee.
Fandom: White Wolf: World of Darkness
Personality: Cadence is like any atypical teen. She has a huge chip on her shoulder and a lot of problems that stem more or less from a host of different reasons. First and foremost, she is a werewolf. Unlike what the rest of the world thinks, she was never bitten. She was born this way. To be more specific, she is a Galliard of the Children of Gaia, a tribe of werewolves, otherwise know as Garou.
True to her auspice of Galliard (birth moon), she is a natural bard and singer. She is responsible for telling the tale of her pack's exploits and earning them renown for their deeds. Although she is still young an inexperienced, her ability to pick the right tone for a tale earned her the name 'Strikes-a-Chord” For her ability to call forth powerful emotions with words alone.
She is fascinated by stories and loves to listen to other people talk, especially if they are unaware of her eavesdropping on them. She always has a notebook and a pen with her where she scribbles down lyrics to a song she is working on, or a poem that she is writing. Her dream was to make it big as a rockstar like P!nk, but turning into a werewolf shattered her dreams. She does hang out with a local garage band however, sometimes fronting as a backup singer or guitarist. She still wants to be a rockstar, but now she wants to raise money for environmental awareness rather than personal glory.
She has a bad attitude and is rude to anyone she meets. She has a hard time tearing down the personal barriers she put up around herself. If anyone manages to get past it, they might discover that she is still a scared kid, waiting to wake up from the nightmare of her life. Not even she really knows deep down that this is how she feels most days. If anyone is crazy enough to tough it out with her, they will eventually discover that she is 'friend for life' material. Mostly this is because she has few friends, and anyone willing to put up with her is deemed a friend for life. Christain, the Bonegnawer who found her is one of those friend for lifers. As is her best friend in NY Cadence.
Although Cadence hates bullies, she will usually bully people or turn a blind eye to people being bullied. Survival of the fittest is something that was instilled into to her by her mother at a young age. Only when someone stands up for themselves or is unwilling to be bullied, will they gather any respect from her. She is not an Ahroun, but because her birth moon is the nearly full Gibbous moon, she does pack some rage away. She does not lose her temper often, but when she does, it is explosive and consequential. Usually she ends up shifting into glabro form, which is the near human form, she looks like a hulking neanderthal. But, if she truly looses it, she shifts into Crinos and goes on a rampage that lasts until all her anger is expunged. In this state it is almost impossible to differentiate between friend and foe for her, and anyone in the vicinity is likely to get hurt or terribly savaged. After such an outburst she will outwardly show no remorse, but internally she will feel horrible and want nothing more than to find the darkest hole in the world to crawl into and die.
She also hates what she is. Deep down. She hates being a werewolf. It is a curse embodying everything wrong with her life. She is never happy using her other forms or any of her werewolf abilities. She only learned because it was learn or die, and she hates dying just that much more. Of course she understands that the alternate forms have their uses and that it is a part of her, no matter what. She just does not like it. Instead she relishes her human form. As she gets older, she might, eventually come to like her form, depending on what happens to her. But for the moment, she hates it.
History: Cramming this here: Useful information on Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Cadence was born in New York City to Daliah "Blood-on-the-Wind" Turner, a renowned Black Fury Ahroun. Because her mother was a werewolf, Cadence was raised by kinfolk foster parents that looked after her whenever her mother was gone. Her mother was gone often, but every so often would return. Usually her homecoming was greeted with temper-tantrums and fights from Cadence who hated that her mother was never around, even if she did not know the reason why. As she got older, the fights between her mother began to grow more and more violent. Twice her own mother put her in the hospital for her disobedience. As a result, Cadence began to take her anger and frustrations out on other kids at school and within the foster family. There were days on end where she would be gone from home, either crashing at a friend's house, of staying out on the street because anything was preferable to returning home.
It was not long before her mother found her and dragged her back kicking and screaming to the foster house. Once again, Cadence was beaten to within an inch of her life, only this time the change took over and she fought of her mother. Although Daliah had been waiting for this day to come but, the change was so sudden, it caught her off guard. Cadence knocked her unconscious and then fled, terrified of what she had become.
Others from her mother's pack chased her down and brought her back to the cairn, the place of power sacred to garou (werewolves). There, they taught her about what she was and of the proud lineage that she came from. Cadence wanted none of it. She ran away again, this time managing to escape the state and her mother by stealing aboard a grayhound bus headed for California.
Because she was an untrained garou, she ran the risk of changing at the slightest provocation. Because of her bad temper, the chances of this happening ran high. More than once, she found herself beginning to change, unable to control it as something happened to her. Out of habit, she began to push anyone and everyone away, trying to distance herself from people she could potentially hurt. She arrived in California, a bitter and jaded person, constantly on edge. A chance encounter with a homeless man in San Fransisco, was her salvation. The man was actually a Boneganwer Theurge, scouting the streets at the behest of the spirits, looking for troubled souls to guide.
Cadence was about the most troubled soul he could find. Rather than reveal himself right away, he worked to befreind her and to teach her how to live on the streets. In time she began to trust him, and he then revealed who and what he was. At first Cadence was outraged that he had been hiding the truth from her, but she became greatful once she realized who and what he was.
He introduced her to the San Francisco Cairn called 'Open Heart' (a mixed tribe cairn located in Golden Gate Park) and her training as a garou began for real. Although she was a Black Fury by birth, as exemplified by her black crinos, hispo and lupus forms, she was accepted into the Cairn as a Child of Gaia. She earned her Garou name "Strikes-a-Chord" through a rite of passage.
Timeline: Modern day world of Darkness, 2012
Abilities: Shapeshifting: She can take 5 forms Homid, Glabro, crinos, hispo and lupus.
Homid- human form. It is what she looks like usually and is what she reverts to whens knocked unconscious. If a limb is chopped off in any other form, it too reverts to human form.
Glabro- Neanderthal cave man like form. A lot more muscle, less refined looking,ad generally harrier and stronger. This form also is taller by half a foot to a whole foot more. In Cadence's case, it is a half foot taller.
Crinos: Half wolf/half human. Otherwise known as the monstrous form. She stands 9' tall in this form and is capable of running on two legs or four. Speech is impossible aside from one or two word growled out like DIE NOW or KILL.
Hispo- near wolf, or direwolf form. She is bigger and heavier than a direwolf,, standing at waist height.. about 3.5' at the shoulder. She has stronger jaws and extended claws but is heavy set towards the chest and shoulders and cannot long distance run in this form.
Lupus: Wolf form. Average sized wolf.
In all forms, she has two toned hair because of the dye she uses. In crinos- lupus, this is shown as blue fur starting at the back of her head and continuing down to between her shoulder blades. The hair is blue at the tips and white underneath.
She is not bound to shifting under a moon. She can change forms at will and it usually takes her a minute to finish the process.
Her clothing was bout to her through a rite, so that it disappears into the umbra (spirit world) when she shifts and reappears when she shifts back into a form requiring clothes. If she wears clothing that has not been attuned, it will be shredded when she shape shifts.
She is allergic to silver, it causes aggravated damage to her, true to all werewolves where she is from. This damage take twice as long to heal.
Regeneration: Normal damage is regenerated at an accelerated over time and only the most grievous injuries will require extended time to heal.
Inventory: Clothes on her back, messenger bag with a bottle of water, notebook, two pens, a celphone (now useless), a pocket knife, an ipod nano (it's been blessed to never run out of power thanks to a glasswalker Ragabash Named 'Typo' who likes to tinker with electronics and spirits)

[The streets stank. which was nothing new to Cadence. If she was expecting anything different, the joke was on her. Passing a pissed soaked alleyway, she glanced down it, casually as she worried her lip piercing with a finger. There was a homeless man sleeping on some trash bags near the abandoned doorway of the old warehouse. He looked asleep, but she couldn't be sure. For once, she wished she could hear or see him better, which was rich since she hated 'mommy's gift' more than anything in the world.
She would try the next alley perhaps, rather than deal with some homeless guy. She continued walking down the street, trying not to draw attention to herself for once. Thankfully the evening's darkness hid her most obvious feature: blue and bleach blonde-white hair. Her black hoodie obscured her form, making her less noticeably female too. Small relief in a town where both men and women were propositioned regularly.
The next alleyway was not empty either. Three homies stood, quietly talking to each other as they passed a joint around. She started to continue past, when a scent caught her. Something was not right about them. Glancing back at them, she saw one glance at her with glowing red eyes.]
Fuck. [And then she was off running. The trap had been sprung early. Hopefully the others would be in place down at the abandoned car lot. Hopefully she would get there in time as the three wyrm tainted mutants bolted after her. This should be Typo's job! she thought as she sprinted down the street, not hers. But because she hated to use her other forms, this was the penalty.]

Fuck this! I mean seriously. FUCK THIS. I don't want this to be my life. I hate this and I hate her. I also don't need the life isn't fair speech. I got that all my life, thanks. That is the ONE message that has come in loud and clear.
[Angry noises. things being licked, or slammed around in the croft. Followed by a growl.] To fucking hell with this. FUCK. [More crashing and then a snarl, followed by the sound of the door being violently slammed open before there is a long silence. The Mirror eventually stops recording since there is no more input.]
